Fine work, Isaac. The sharpness and BG of your crop make this. Getting the eye and tail in good focus shows your attention to camera plane. The wing shadow on the bud is a plus. The minimal focus distance of your lens is good but an extension tube would allow you to get a good step closer if the dragonfly would permit. (I believe that this is a male Slaty Skimmer, not a Dasher.) |

Hey Kent, always exciting to see wild elk. I agree that Isaac's crop and cloning are helpful. |

Thanks Issac. I do prefer the square crop. Cloning out those stamen is a good idea. |

Hi Michael. Macros open up a whole new photographic world. You'll have fun with that. I'm wondering if you upped the exposure a bit too much which costs some contrast. For me, the back flower in the upper left doesn't add anything but I like the green BG. I'd experiment with a crop that gets the center of the flower on the upper left rule of thirds. Also curious about your shutter speed (SS). The upper right focus seems sharper than the lower left which suggests that you weren't parallel to the plane of the flower. If you were on a tripod magnified live view can help with this. |

Hi Mary. That must have been an exciting trip. Your picture makes me hungry for some Greek food. I love Nik. Don't know if you tried running this through their HDR but it may give you some interesting filters to try. The cutoff tower in the upper right gives a cramped feel, IMO. Is this the 18-55 lens? Maybe an excuse to get a 10-22 for your next trip. |

A fine shot, IMO, Abhijeet. The arm angle and tree angle work well. The catchlight in the eyes is a big plus. For me, I would clone out the lower left white spot and maybe even the bright green spot. |

Nice composition on this Sarah. I like the detail on the feathers and that the whites are nicely captured. In some ways I actually prefer the original. The blueish tint in the PP doesn't seem right to my eyes. Also perhaps a bit over sharpened. |
