31 Jul 22 Reply Thanks for visiting the Group and for your comments. I think Escher could have made the relationship of the of the different worlds more confusing with respect to their actual orientation. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Reply Thanks Nick. Something for me to try on this image. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Reply Peter, I agree. The image may work a little in its original color version. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Comment Ella, I doubt if I could stare this fellow down. Beautiful feather detail, and dark background helps the owl really stand out. I do agree with the others about the brightness of the front foot. Nice Own portrait. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Comment Hello Nick. I hope this big guy wasn't surveying you. I like the composition, tight on the bear and the fur texture. This works for me in B&W I also like the modification Peter suggested and the successful way you used it to deemphasize the background and foreground rock. Really keeps the eye on the bear. Nice work. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Comment Ian, this image in B&W works for me. I like the blurred shapes in the background, interesting but not distracting. The range of gray tones is pleasing. The overlapping stem is not a big distraction for me. I wonder if that whole section could be cloned and moved to the right slightly; that is repositioning it. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Comment Peter, I really like this image. I can feel the mist and the cold moodiness of the situation. Wonderful range of tones. great detail in the shadows. I may be mistaken but the rock in the lower right looks like it has slight halo along the top edge. Possibly from sharpening. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Comment Hello John. I am also attracted to this type of subject matter, often because of the interesting array of colors. Perhaps it has greater possibilities as a color image. For B&W I might have tried to isolate some smaller portion of this image looking for shapes and textures. Jul 18th
31 Jul 22 Reply Hello Ella. I think all of the comments from you and others are on point. The color version may offer a little more interest because of the color. Jul 18th
