Wonderful capture and timing. I love the detail in the feathers, and the fact that the bird is looking directly at me. (I hope it doesn't see me as dinner). Really strong composition and an excellent job in replacing the background.
The bird photography enthusiast in my local photo club would be envious. |

Hello Nick. Intriguing image, well caught. The eye is in excellent focus which is important for bird images. I believe it does very well in B&W. I like Peter's suggestion and I will remember the technique for future use. |

Peter, I have a strong affinity for Scotland since my DNA is 53% Scottish heritage. I like both versions but perhaps the color a bit more. The warm foreground stands out against the stormy sky. The sky in the B&W version seems to have some granulation in the middle tone areas. Perhaps artifacts from the scanning process? Strong image. |

Hello Hohn. I like your composition and subject matter. As was stated the light area in the foreground adds nice depth. My only suggestion would be to crop the sky as Peter suggested and see what you think; however, having said that I would include the cloud formation above the horses. |
