Ella, not aware of your medical situation, however I sincerely hope all ends well for you. regarding your still life, wonderful. I love the texture. I think your light painting method may yield a more interesting image than my more traditional lighting approach. |

Paul, wonderful capture of a moment in time. I might crop in from both the left and right to bring more attention on the boys. Perhaps a little crop on the right and more on the left. Good timing. |

Hello Nick. I can feel the fog. Congrats. If this were my image, and were it possible, I probably would have tried to bring just a little detail into the black areas, perhaps zone 3 detail. Just my opinion, not a criticism: My Calif. West coast Ansel Adams influence. Even zone three detail would not impact the nice compositional oppositional structure of light vs dark. Nice image. |

Peter, as always, I have no criticism of your image. I wouldn't know how or what to improve, so I am fine with your result. As an observation there is an "other worldliness" about the image with the lighting. That appeals to me. |

Hello John. I like your approach to minimalism. I agree with the others about cropping grass. However, keeping with the theme and subject matter selection, I would like to see motion in the grass. I think that would bring the minimalism of this image alive. With motion I would not crop the grass. |

Hello Nick. The graphic effect was intentional. However, I'm not sure whether it is successful. I liked the transition from a photograph to an impression, or interpretation, seeking a unique way to show an iconic subject. This mill has been photographed thousands of times. Certain subjects appeal to me more in graphic, sketch like form, than as a more traditional B&W photo. Thanks for your comments. |

Hello Ella. Thanks for going through the effort to make some suggestions. I like what you have done. The sketch like appearance was intentional to create a different image from just a photograph, an impression. I'm still curious about how successful this technique is in attracting people's attention or providing a pleasing image. |
