Thanks for the feedback Paul. I think I consider this image as an idea that didn't work. On to the next. |

Fine image that emphases the harshness of the Death Valley environment. The low angle of the light really brings out the textures. Well done. By the way yesterday (8/16) it was 130 degrees in the Valley. |

Paul a very strong portrait and an interesting face. Nice job getting catch lights in the eyes and in the use of selective focus. As the others have pointed out the white area to the left of the subject's head trends to be distracting. Although
I didn't even see it at first because the face was so compelling. |

Hi Michael. I enjoy seeing your infra red efforts. I agree about the white cloud tending to draw the eye to itself. Overall the image is a little dark for me. I wonder what would happen if you played with contrast areas. I look forward to seeing more infrared images. I would like to try this technique myself. |

Hello Ian. Great timing. Capturing the the "surfer: in a perfect position and a very dramatic angle. It might be fun to play with the color version a bit if you have time. Very nice work. |

Wow Peter. Magnificent image. I agree with Ella that the water reflection is probably a star reflection. Great job on capturing the Aurora as well as pin point stars. |

Hello John. Sorry that their was a problem with my comments.
I like the color image and the B&W. The tree clearly dominates the image with the flowers in front adding depth to the scene and additional interest. The sky is important to this image. For me its adds drama. For the B&W I would interpret it a little differently. Hope you don't mind that I have attached a slightly different interpretation. |

I believe what I was trying to achieve was to show a contrast between a living tree and the remnants of a tree via very old wood. Perhaps this is a bit of a stretch to suggest differences with the same origin. A living tree; the wood of a formerly living tree in a totally different context. Each stands in defiance of the coming storm. Perhaps I have been cooped up to long under the Covid-19 quarantine. |

I must agree with both of you. I was trying to achieve something but the image fails. Better choice next month. Thanks for the honest comments. |
