Actually I was able to find a side road off the main highway and drove up to the site. Very convenient. A lucky find. |

Paul a very sensitively executed portrait. The man's hand tells the story well. Like the others the white object in the upper right are a bit distracting however I can easily ignore them given the strength of the portrait. |

John, nicely executed image. I really enjoy the boat reflection and rich range of tones in the image. Nice positioning of the boats. I bet this image also works very well in color. |

Peter thanks for the info on using strokes. I agree with you and Ella about the crop being a little tight. |

Peter, Nice image as always. The composition leads my eye nicely all around the image back to the staring point, the foreground rock. Nice detail in the water and in the water streaks upon the sand. Just curious, in the lower left there appears to be a twig or similar object exiting from the sand. I might have tried to remove it to avoid it being interpreted as a defect. |

Great tonal range. Good job in bringing out the figures and maintaining detail in the shadows. Well executed. I recognized the clue. I worked with a 4x5 field view for nearly 20 years before going digital. I am going to guess that use some version of the zone system along with plus or minus development to control contrast. |

Great image Ella. Very creative with interesting components. I like the arrangement of elements and the range of tones in the image. Tape measure framing adds additional interest for me. Well done. |

Ian an interesting abstract image; however, the title is necessary to give meaning to the shape. I like the lighting on the fuselage. Would prefer to have a little detail in the engine exhaust. On the other hand perhaps you purposely kept the lower right dark to contrast with the light sky in the upper left. |
