Hi Brad,
I was thinking more like this. I also enlarged the tree a bit and changed the crop so that the bird and the tree were on the thirds lines. The smaller bird enhances the sense of isolation.

Hi Brad,
I would Not add a red apple to the tree. I like Nadia's crop. I might think about adding a bird to the upper right. A bird that is black from high contrast and placed over the bright white cloud so it stands out.
