34 Nov 22 Comment Hi Frans,
This striking image caught my eye, so I thought I'd stop and comment. This is an expertly crafted image, congratulations. My opinion as to why it might not score higher than you like, is that the background is a bit too common and lacks impact. So I'd look at swapping out the background.
Cheers,
Tom

41 Nov 22 Reply Hi Brian,
Thanks for the suggestions. I had fun playing with those ideas, but ultimately lead back to my original. It was time well spent.

41 Nov 22 Reply Hi Nadia,
After experimenting with the versions, I've come full circle back to my original. The main issue with the other versions for me is the loss of intimacy between the two just before they part.

41 Nov 22 Reply Hi Brad,
I was just really curious as to what you saw. I'm thinking that the original was the one I liked the best.
Thanks.

41 Nov 22 Reply OK, Here's the receding images version. Does have an alignment issue, but easy fix.

I can see that might be stronger. What do you think?

41 Nov 22 Reply Hi Brian,
Thanks for your comments. Yes that is me on the left as I was the best I could afford. I'll add some more drop shadow. I guess I'm on a symmetry streak right now. I not trained in art. I'm a retired software developer, so most of my images are by gut feel. Nice to hear someone who can articulate what they see.

41 Nov 22 Comment Hi Nadia,
Moody image, well crafted. The only comment I have is that the roots of the tree has shadows that are blocked up and I'm not sure you need to do that to have the moodiness.

41 Nov 22 Comment Hi Brian,
Interesting technique that I have been playing around with a bit as well. For me it never felt like a finished product, more like a starting point for a composite as it doesn't have a story. I'll have a look at Michelle's video. Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8T3_Ew0wqU&list=PL1A95YFPCbp-sgRni02bgFwOVFuutQH1o&index=81&t=381s is another view of this. I made an action so I can repeat it automatically.

These are blended well and they look like an original photo. Well done.
