Very creative. I like the way you have combined the two pictures. I'm not very experienced on portrait type pictures so can't offer much as to what you could do different. I personally like it just the way it is.

I'm from Colorado and have been to the Sand Dunes several times. This is a beautiful capture. I really like heavy clouds that have a lot of visual interest as this does. That contrasted with the lighter dunes really looks nice.
I think I would go against the grain here and instead of cropping the top off I think I would crop the bottom up so the trees are at the very bottom pointing up to the dunes with the horizon on or near the lower third line. I find the clouds more interesting than the foreground and would prefer to see more of them. That may just be personal preference. I also think it could be darkened just slightly to bring out more contrast in the dunes and make the lighter sun spot on the dunes a little more pronounced.
I plan to retire back in Colorado so will have to add this to my list to go photograph some day. Nice shot!

Beautiful shot! I actually like the buildings on the hill behind it. They give it some additional visual interest for me. I agree with Andrew that the white balance is a bit warm. I like the adjustments Andrew made. But overall this is a beautiful picture. |

That is really interesting how you accidentally captured such an intriguing picture. I like your crop. It just works. |

Wow, what a fantastic opportunity you had to capture such a beautiful creature. The picture is beautiful. You have done a great job of ensuring the eyes are sharp and the soft background really draws you to the face. I love it. Great job!!!

I really like the picture. I'm a water nut and love boats so this one really grabs my attention. Nice job!
I noticed the same thing as Jamie. My eyes were first drawn to the boats in back as it looks like they are floating in the air. I think I like the modified version better as the wake sends your eyes directly to the red boat. I also think it could use a little more contrast to bring out the texture in the water.
