Victor, many thanks for your wonderful story. I like the mono version much more than the color image. My only suggestion would be perhaps a little more contrast. |

Thank you Henry. I hadn't notice the fringing but will eliminate those areas. |

I think the image is great and much prefer the mono version. But, I find the many bright circles in the background to be distracting and would darken all of them. |

A great photo and I agree with the suggestion that more space is needed to the right of the Kola. I would also like to see the background to the top right darkened a little. |

A great image of a beautiful young lady with a wonderful expression. My only minor concern is the number of highlights in her eyes. I don't know how to do this but I wonder if somehow there could be just a single highlight. |

I like both mono versions 2 and 3. I suggest that the background and especially the foliage in the top right is somewhat distracting. In my revision I cropped the right side, burned in some areas and blurred the background. |

I like the your rendition much more than the original. My only minor suggestion is to crop some off the left edge and bottom as I feel the few people at the left edge and the chairs at the bottom are a distraction and perhaps might improve the overall composition. |

Jason, many thanks for your revision and for explaining your 50% gray layer. I do use dodge and burning but will have to try your technique. |

Jason, I agree that a figure in the street would add more interest but I like your image without one. I don't find the gate that objectionable but do agree with the others that it's removal would be a plus. |

A wonderful image and a great conversion from a rather plain original image. I also agree that the arms seem to blend into the background and need more separation. |

To me the more interesting part of the image is the street beyond the bridge. So in my revision I cropped off much of the white tower and then burned the remaining bright white areas. I also cropped the bridge so that is was not quite so centered. And, I lightened the shadow areas and then flipped the image horizontally. |

I think your image is incredible and wonderful as is your "hair on fire." I would not change anything. |

A very interesting image with many interesting lines. I do like Terry's image with more contrast and vibrancy. |

Brenda, I used a Topaz Studio 2 filter called Safari Afternoon on the overall image. I then selected the sky and used Levels to darken it. And I did not like the white looking roof so I selected just the roof and cloned some of the sky on to the roof to add the same overall color. And I also select just the two antennae and painted them black.
Where possible I like to use an F stop of 8 up to 11 as I feel that range gives the sharpest images. The focus on the barn was already at infinity so a higher F stop would not add any depth of field and the higher shutter speed helps avoid any camera motion. |
