11 Nov 17 Comment Interesting gaze but I find the white area in the background distracting and felt there should be more detail in the wolf's fur. I took your original photo, selected the background and then blurred it. Then I converted the wolf to mono with much less contrast Nov 18th
11 Nov 17 Comment I like the mono version much better than the color photo. I thought this is a difficult subject to photograph since there is not much contrast. I felt the back wall did not add much to the photo so I cropped most of it out and darkened what was left. Then I increased the contrast and used the dodge and burn tools to add more contrast and highlights. Nov 18th

11 Nov 17 Comment Interesting photo but, as you said, it lacks contrast. I converted the photo with one of the NIK Silver Effect filters and was able to add some detail in the mountain shadows and a lot of contrast in the sky. Nov 18th
