Outstanding and sharp action shot, especially after you explained the rest of the story, with so much going on. I like the composition and colors and seeing the spectators. |

Thanks, Dennis. Nice to have a name for the marsh bird and a reference resource for future. |

Thanks, Alec, I'll be more conscious about focusing on eyes for animal photography. |

Thanks, Kurtis. Here is the bird with more room on the left and I agree that looks better. I had cropped so tight to eliminate a distracting reflection, so I redid the cropping and brushed out the reflection.
I was wondering what happened to you and I see you went to Group 38. I always enjoyed your photos and comments, so I will miss you and I'll have to check out #38 to see what you're doing! |

Samuel, I made comments a week ago, but I don't see them posted, so I will go again!
I like this capture of the ship with the seagulls on one side and the sun on the other, the details of the rigging and the individuals on board and boarding, plus the ripples on the water accented by the green foliage.
I like the gold softness reflecting the sun, but I also like the cooler tint and contrasting sky suggestion that makes the ship pop and creates a sharper effect. |

Wow, an interesting and powerful perspective! Love the way the eye so clearly and sharply pops out, emphasized by the swirling effect around it,
I find the dark circle below and left of the eye a bit distracting. Could it be brushed out to blend with the green around it?
Good start on macro photography! |

Thanks, Gail. I don't know the name of this bird either! I'm more into identifying flowers than birds and I prefer photographing flowers. |

Nice detail and color. Good job having a solid background to show off the flower. |

Gail, welcome to our group!
Tough shot, handling the dark bird with the dark background, but you were able to bring out details on the bird, including the eye, the green on the underwing and the red on the upper one. Nice capture flapping its wings, maybe better than in flight because of we can see so many different parts of the bird! |

What a beautiful, clean image and one of the best reflections I have ever seen! The golden color shows off the golden hour in a striking manner. |
