Mark, how could anyone NOT love your photograph? It's fantastic. The composition is outstanding, and your post-processing couldn't be better.
Naturally, I wanted to play with the image in Camera Raw. I started with the original and did not convert it to B&W. I made slight crop adjustments and "lowered" the rock so the bottom of the right fall is visible.
What do you think?

Thank you, Anna. I will play with the sky a bit and see if there's something that I can improve. I love getting ideas/thoughts from folks!! |

Suzanne, I debated about straightening the power pole; however, it seemed to lend interest to the image without detracting the viewer, so I left it. The colors are a great fallout of my camera. It's amazingly able to capture them with its 16-bit color depth. |

Thank you, Richard. I was lucky to find this location. Driving around in the country is definitely a "hit or miss" approach.

Richard, it's a fantastic capture! Your time waiting for a clear shot was well worth it! The toucan is perfect. Well done!
I agree with the comments of the others and took your photograph into Camera Raw to apply them. Your thoughts?

Sophia, my thoughts are very similar to Richard's. Additionally, you might consider a slightly different cropping so that the building on the left side better balances the moon. The lighting is tricky, and you did a good job with it. I played with your image in Photoshop and Camera Raw. What do you think?
BTW, I would leave the scaffolding.

My wife and favorite critic came by and said that the "sky looks too choppy." Naturally, I took this to heart. Here's the revised version.

Anna, your image is wonderful. I love the colors and the boat. As Suzanne mentioned, brightening the boat might let it stand out even more. In fact, a tighter crop and removing even more of the rocks could also help. I played with your photograph and made a few of these changes. I also modified the sky a bit.

Well done, Natalia! The ripples in the water make a perfect background for the star of your image -- the duck and its reflection. Like others, I took the liberty of playing with it a bit. I modified the crop and attempted to highlight the duck's reflection and the wake in the water behind the duck. Your thoughts?

Suzanne, this is spectacular! Like you, I love the colors. The red and purple tower is wonderful! Your choice to make this a long exposure image was perfect. By "stilling" the water, you kept it from distracting from the highlight... the tower. Nicely done!
I enjoy playing with striking images, which yours certainly is! Using Camera Raw, I slightly straightened the verticals, adjusted the lighting slightly, and then cropped a small amount off the sky. What do you think?

Mike, your decisions when post-processing the image were outstanding. I agree that the woman walking behind the man should be removed. I also noticed you made the wise decision to leave the level with the helmet, and did not make it perfectly horizontal. Excellent! Finally, your treatment of the sky drew attention to the man and the helmet.
The entire image was extremely well done!

Chris, VERY well seen and beautifully captured. I completely agree about the stems leading the viewer's eyes to the fantastic water drop.
After enjoying the modifications of others, I decided to try my own. Since the stems play such a large role in leading to the focus point, I decided to go further by eliminating the leaves and ONLY show a few stems.
Your thoughts?

Adrian, I like the final version. It really directs the viewer's eyes to the action. I wondered how it might look as a high-key image, so I played with it in Photoshop and Camera Raw. Although I like some aspects of the result (e.g., the bull-fighter's shadow), I think it misses the feeling of reality that your photograph conveys.

Mark, another wonderful photograph. I love the feeling that it evokes in the viewer (at least in me). You did an outstanding post-processing job, bringing out the rain and feeling of wetness. Emil's slightly darker version enhances your image even more, though I like the brightness at the end of the alley in yours. |

Kamal, it's a fantastic image. I love the fact that it tells a story and that the "top" man is such a captivating focal point. Well seen!
I edited your photograph using Camera Raw and Photoshop. First, I cropped it to bring further attention to the man with the hook. Then, I adjusted the lighting slightly. Your thoughts? |

Adrian, that's a brilliant idea! I like the feeling that the new cropping gives. It's much more "Halloween appropriate"!
And, I'm delighted to have you back. I've missed your thoughtful suggestions!

Emil, I love how this pulls me into the image. The leading lines are amazing, and they're coupled with the interesting shadows along the walkway. VERY impressive.
I played with your photograph to see how it might look with different cropping and lighting. I've attached what I came up with (i.e., square format), but in the end I prefer your version.
