Photographs that show and evoke emotions are the stars of photography, and yours definitely qualifies! Your tightly cropped image shows the young man's tear, which truly "makes" the image. Beautifully done.
I wanted to see a version that included more of the context, so I abandoned the tear and included more of the other people and area. Your thoughts?

Sophia, I've got to admit-- bees scare me. Your photograph does exactly what outstanding images should do. It evokes emotion. Strong emotion.
I especially like David's version (when I can look at it without flinching).
Fascinating and extremely well done!

Jim, I've studied each of the suggestions and image modifications. They all have merits; however, I keep coming back to yours. Your composition and post-processing are outstanding. Well done!

Keisha, it took me a while to get the "feel" of your image. But, now I really like what you've done. The idea of an abstract is perfect for this. That saves it from being "another nice flower image".
I played with it a bit to move even further into the realm of abstracts. What do you think?

Excellent, David. It's a delightful subject and composition. To me, the shape of the branch is sufficiently similar to that of the squirrel that they really "work" together.
I played with your image in Camera Raw to do some slight modifications, mostly to the light. Your thoughts?

Mark, it's a captivating photograph! I love the sky and the layers of mountains. I played with your image in Camera Raw to see how it might look with slightly different lighting. While I was at it, I also did a bit of cropping on the top.

Thank you, Mark. It's an amazing building. I recall MANY years ago when I could simply walk in on a solo tour. Those days are, unfortunately, long gone.

Thank you, Emil. I intentionally lightened the dome and may have gotten a bit carried away. I thought it was important to show the statue on top of the dome and increase its exposure. After doing that, it seemed a bit artificial until I also brightened the dome.

Adrian, I've looked at your image many times during the past couple of weeks, trying to think of something to add to what Emil has said/done. However, no matter what I came up with I couldn't improve his work.
The photograph is a testament to the resolution of the Hasselblad, your skill at seeing the scene, and Emil's ability to enhance even the best images.

Israel, your environmental portraits are consistently excellent... and this is another one. The man's face, arms, hands, and the fish are the subject in my opinion. I love the tools behind the man since they add context and tell a great deal about the scene. Well done!!
Naturally, I wanted to play a bit with your image. My intent was to emphasize the man and his activity further. To do this, I cropped some of the upper and lower portions of the photograph and modified the lighting. Your thoughts?

Chris, while I agree with others that real flower petals have texture, I find that it's the graceful shape of the petals appeals to me. With that in mind, I played with your image in Camera Raw to emphasize the "S" formed by the petals. This entailed reducing texture and slightly modifying the light.

Such an amazing opportunity to take nature photographs... and you definitely took advantage of it. I'd love to take the trip you took. I'm very envious!
I played with your image a bit to see if I could further isolate the two zebras. Everything I did was done in Camera Raw. Your thoughts?

Wow! Mark, I can see why you spent a half-day in this location. It's gorgeous. I especially like your composition and the wide range of tones. Beautifully done!
I played with your image a bit, starting with the original. I wanted to see how it might look with different (dramatic) lighting. Your thoughts?

Emil, I love it. I have a public greenhouse a couple of miles from my house and have taken many photographs of Cana leaves. As you mentioned, it can be challenging; however, the structure of the "veins" is wonderful. I played a bit with your original image to see how it would look with somewhat different lighting. Your thoughts?
