Richard, I hate coming late to the party since everyone has already said the things I'm thinking. Nonetheless, I must add that I agree... this is a wonderful photograph. I've also taken a number of images of bees about to land on a flower. However, yours is made unique because the bee's wings show their motion and add to the excitement of the image. Well done!

Jim, I love the hot rod and how you've captured it. The wide-angle view really makes it stand out. Like Barbara, I like David's version with the blurred background. That even further emphasized the wonderful car.

Mark, this is a spectacular photograph! I love everything about it. Like David, I prefer the color version and decided to play with it a bit. I modified the light and cropping to add emphasis to the light on the vertical stone.
Your thoughts?

Such a gorgeous flower! Like others, I wanted to play with your image. And, like Sophia, I'm not fond of the white vignette. So, after adding a bit of texture to the orchid, I darkened the background and also added a dark vignette. Your thoughts?

Thank you, David! After my trec along the path in the dark, I was desperate to find SOMETHING I could photograph. I tried to use the vignette to make the area look like a separate, "special" place.

WV is definitely NOT level but it's certainly beautiful.
Jim, the broken camera worked out fine. (See my response to Sophia.) Also, it helped my conscience about having bought the R7 as a backup. lol |

Richard, I was also taken with the yellow flowers and amber bush and, in fact, played with them quite a bit to bring them out. The relatively new Camera Raw and Lightroom masking capabilities did beautifully, allowing me to mask by color range. Then, I slightly brightened the two areas and increased their saturation. I felt that the tree on the left of the image added to the feeling of the photograph, so I didn't want to crop it out. Maybe I can reduce the darkness of that corner and further bring out the flowers/bush.

Thank you, Mark. When I showed the finished photograph to my daughter, she said that all it needed was a few dancing fairies added. lol
I like the idea of leaving a bit of mist in the background. I'll play with that. Thanks.
I survived my fall with no injury. See my response to Sophia to see how my camera fared.

Hiking the trail in the darkness was a memorable experience! My broken camera ended on a positive note. Although I almost never buy insurance for my cameras and lenses, it turns out that I had purchased the Canon CarePAK for the R5. Canon's service was amazing. They provided a mailing label to cover the cost of sending them the camera. Then they fixed it perfectly and returned it (still no shipping charges) in less than a week. I was impressed!

Sophia, this is such a peaceful and beautiful scene. I love the simplicity and your use of a fairly long exposure to smooth the water. Also, the idea of "popping" the sky is excellent! This was definitely worth the muddy trek.
After looking at your image several times, there were two things that I noticed. First, because of the long exposure, there was a bit of motion blur in the trees. Second, the sky "pattern/color" is a bit repetitious because of the cloning. I attempted to see if I could make a couple of modifications to alleviate these two things. Unfortunately, the quality of my changes isn't great since I could only work with the low-resolution image. Nonetheless, here's what I came up with.

David, I think your editing choices were right on target. Having her eyes open gives me a direct connection with her, allowing me to sense the cold that she's feeling. Removing the wrist band was wise. Also, removing the bright background with another blue "thing" was excellent. I think you've got a winner here!
The only thing you might consider would be to slightly darken the hand on the left of the image. While the brightness seems natural, it slightly pulls my attention from her face... a minor nit in an outstanding image.

Thank you, Bob. I definitely agree with you about Emil's comments (see my reply to him). I plan to do more work on this image to see if I can add the depth that you mentioned. |

Emil, I really like how you've modified the trees, mountains, and foreground. Thank you! I find the sky in your version a bit too contrasty, but I love how it brings out the sun's rays. I'll definitely play with the image some more... with your suggestions in mind! |

Bunny, I kept hoping that this image would grow on me. It's well done and has an interesting pattern; however, it isn't a photograph that entices me to continue looking. I could see the image perhaps being used as a "background anchor" in a composite. My eyes keep going to the Big Brother. I think that's because I'm looking for something specific to focus on.

Bob, I agree with Emil... It is a dynamite shot with outstanding texture. I also think his approach to creating separation between the two walls is well done. This is an image that can be modified in lots of different ways. You could even cheat and add to the wall...... |

Israel, you have another winner here! Including the windows was an excellent choice. Well done!
I wanted to play with your photograph a bit to see if I could make some small modifications to further emphasize the model. Your thoughts?

Emil, I absolutely love this. Monochrome works perfectly to highlight the lilies and their reflections. The dragonfly is an added touch that one doesn't notice at first. I have no suggestions. Well done!

Melissa, I really like what you've done. Even though the color version is quite nice, I think the tones in the monochrome image let the snake and wonderful lines come through. Nicely done!
I did notice that the beads in the background kept taking my eyes away from the wonderful snake. With that in mind, I played a bit with your image. Your thoughts?
