Really nice street photography. It's difficult to see a shot like this and be prepared to take it. Well done!
Although it's not "legal" to significantly modify street photography, I couldn't resist after reading the comments of the other members. So, I took a shot at it. I'm certainly not totally happy with my modifications, but they are interesting to consider. Your thoughts?

Richard, this is a spectacular location and photograph. Since you posted the original, I played with it a bit using input from earlier comments. As Barbara mentioned, I cropped the sky. And, as Mark and David suggested, I desaturated the entire image a bit. Then, I tried adjusting the lighting slightly. Your thoughts?

Thank you, Tom. Since I've rarely seen sunsets of this intensity, I was amazed at the color and saturation! |

David,
I like it both with and without the texture. I played a bit with the lighting to see if I could make it an even more intimate scene. Your thoughts?

Mark, it's a lovely image of an intriguing location. I played with it a bit... cropping slightly on the left and modifying the light so that it felt (to me) like a "secret location in the forest". I attempted to make left-most fern pull my eyes into the image.
Nice work and excellent "seeing"!

Truly outstanding job! Your choice of colors is wonderful. Also, of course, flipping the ladies and changing their dresses was excellent! I wonder how it would look without the added texture.
Very well done!

Like others, I couldn't resist playing with your image. Topaz DeNoise AI does an amazing job cleaning up the noise. I went a bit further and also changed the cropping, removing some of the lefthand side and adding a bit on the right. Your thoughts?

I am so very sorry that Nick is gone. Although I didn't know him personally, I thoroughly enjoyed his photographs and his input on others' images. Nick's creativity and imagination were amazing. And, his input was consistently candid and constructive. I will certainly miss him.

Thank you, Barbara. Appealing photographs definitely benefit from a large dose of luck!
I have several images of this boat at sunset (from the same general location). I'll play with different crops to see which seems best.

David, thank you! The itching has resided so I feel much better about the experience. I like your crop of this image. It makes the boat "fit" in the scene more comfortably. It also emphasizes the color... nice. I'm less enthusiastic about the effects of the Impression plugin since the "painterly" result reduces the feeling of authenticity that I had with I took the photograph. |

Excellent work, Bob! I played with your original image... modifying the lighting, the tones, etc. but, in the end, I preferred your B&W conversion. Nicely done! |

Brilliant! Your use of the silhouette was outstanding. And using the doorway for framing was excellent and provided a point of interest for an amazing image. Very well done, Israel!
I wondered if darkening the sky might pull the viewer's eyes more to the doorway. When I tried that, it seemed dull and unsuccessful. So, instead, I attempted to darken the sky AND make it more dramatic. At the same time, I played with the light on the path leading to the door. Not sure if it comes across as "overdone". Your thoughts?

Leah, your delightful image inspired me to try an abstract. I wanted to attempt to make it less of a reflection and more of a set of patterns, tones, and textures. It was much trickier than I anticipated it would be. In fact, I decided in the end that I really like your rendition much better than mine. Nonetheless, here's what I came up with. |

Bunny, I'm a bit late to the party, but want to share my thoughts. First, I like your concept and the idea of creating a pattern on your husband's face. As LuAnn said, it's an original and creative idea. Nicely done.
I also like the idea of a closeup of his face. But, as someone mentioned, it looks a bit sinister. So, using the original I attempted a different crop. There wasn't enough resolution to do a decent job but maybe my attempt will give an idea of it.
Take care.

LuAnn, this is a very, very nice image... especially as a monochrome! This photograph goes way beyond "food photography". Instead, it's art.
The diagonal image that Israel provided is especially appealing. It feels more dynamic than the initial photograph which feels a bit too static (in my opinion). However, all of the versions are outstanding! Nice work!

Emil, this is nothing short of brilliant! The range of tones is outstanding. As much as I like to make suggestions, I'm at a loss this time. Well done!

Bob, I'm flattered... you're a hard man to fool.
As I mentioned to Bunny, I think I'll try moving the gull back. That should, hopefully, address both the bright underside of the wings and the bird's proportion in relation to the beach.

Steven, since you're a fan of open spaces, you'd love Ocracoke. It's rare in this day and age to find a location where you can be alone on a beautiful beach.
Like you, I found the original scene appealing. However, when I converted it to monochrome, it seems to be missing something. |

Bunny, thank you for your suggestions. I might try adding a few seashells or perhaps some driftwood. It was difficult to decide what size to make the gull. The image might work better if I reduce its size and move it a bit farther away.
