Wow! This is wonderful. Your post-processing is fabulous, especially the idea of having a bright light at the end of their "tunnel". The walkway, lines on the ceiling and blocks on the wall all point toward the light. And, it's perfect that both the mother and baby have a foot in the air. Well done!
Guess I'm going to have to get a new iPhone. lol

Bob, I know that Luminar 3 had some problems with Clone and Stamp. However, it appears that it's working in Luminar 4. This capability would allow you to copy and paste pixels if you wish to "move" the moon.

Ahhh, Gary. I've had many sleepless nights trying to decipher your reference to "King Kong - Fay Wray". Well, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration about the sleepless nights... smiles. She was one of many people with "unusual" makeup and dress. The parade is a fascinating opportunity for photographers.

Thank you, Bob. I'm not familiar with the "inverse filter". Is it a feature of Silver Efex?
I must admit, I didn't visualize the final result. It was really more a matter of playing around with the color image and finding something that appealed to me. |

Very impressive, Bob! I really like the clouds you added. I darkened the moon a bit (as suggested by LuAnn) and made the whole scene a yellow-ish tint. Whatda ya think?

I'm amazed at how well you capture solemn and serene moments. You really do an outstanding job conveying the feelings of the people in your photographs.
Following Bob's comment, I tried making the child's face a bit brighter. At the same time I attempted to highlight the women with some additional light.... and to darken the candles somewhat. Your thoughts?

Gary, like Bob I think your image is beautifully composed. The rising bow of the ship with the white lines leading up to it give a sense of size and power.
Taking a queue from Bob, I played with the photograph a bit to try darkening the sky and seeing if I could bring out a bit of detail on the upper decks. I'm not sure it was a successful attempt. Your thoughts?

Such a lovely smile. And, you definitely turned it into something. I agree that her hair and the twinkle in her eyes "make it" as a photograph worth keeping.
Although I understand about the need to give extra brightness when uploading to Instagram, I find her face and hat a bit too bright. I tried using DeHaze, Clarity and Texture to provide some additional definition to her face and I did slightly different cropping. Your thoughts?

This is such an intriguing image. Every time I look at it I see Mary Poppins floating in the sky with her umbrella. Even without the Mary Poppins connection, the trunk, formal (and old fashion) dress and the tiny umbrella form the basis of a fascinating story.
I like the black background very much. And, you did a nice job with the tree branches, though I might be tempted to darken them just a bit. The only other suggestion would be to play with the contrast on her face. To me it's a little overly contrasty and might benefit from some softer tones.
Well done and a fantastic imagination!

Bob, I really like your idea! And, I think your composite is very well done. I agree with LuAnn's observations about the moon's brightness and, for me, it would be pretty challenging to do a good job adding clouds to the sky.
Since I recently acquired Luminar 4 and am playing with the Sky Replacement feature, I used your image to see what it might look like. Then I used one of Luminar's stock skies which I don't think would be allowed in a photo competition... at least not in my local camera club. Note that I did a quick job, so it's FAR from perfect! Nonetheless, it allowed for some interesting images. Your thoughts?

Thank you, David! This image was a challenge since I wasn't sure of how far to push it. My post-processing definitely changed the character of the woman. I initially made her irises even brighter than they are now, then I toned them down a bit. They may still be too bright for many people. |

Thank you, LuAnn. The LGBTQ+ parade is a wonderful event for photographers. The parade participants are there because, in most cases, they want to be seen. This usually makes them willing and cooperative subjects.
When I saw this woman, the first thing that struck me was the unusual treatment of her eyes and lips. However, my original image didn't convey the sense of intrigue that I felt when I saw her. Thus, in post processing I attempted to give her facial features the same impact that they gave me at the parade. I took the approach of "overdoing it" a bit in my attempt.
The "blotchy skin" is a bit of an enigma to me. If you're referring to the change of tone on her cheeks, it was in the original photograph. I don't know why it was there and I debated about smoothing it out but decided not to.
I totally agree with your observation about the dangers of changing her makeup and I DEFINITELY won't share a copy of the photo with her... life is much too sweet!
