1. Your macro lens is your friend.. LOL
2. Don't hold the ball in the sun with your hand, or cover it so it doesn't shine through it.. remember ants with he magnifying glass? Same effect.. but with your hand.. LOL.. i have a burn mark to prove it.. LOL
3. Focus more on the inside of the ball with the low f-stop .. f/4 or 5.6.. it should have a nice clear on the inside with the bokeh behind the ball..

I actually found it on my Facebook newsfeed one time.. looked interesting.. I like to try and recreate some pictures I see and use my own touch and different subjects |

Also.. don't hold the ball in sunlight.. It'll burn your hand.. LOL

I post a picture of the before picture when I can pull it up.. I have used the crystal ball in a few pictures I have done with it.. I have used it in a wedding I photographed for a friends sister and one other time when I was justing starting to use it.. it really is great if you want to try some creativity |

The only reason I didn't crop it like that is because I wanted to have the viewer see the sign behind it with the intentional bokeh in the background but I see what your saying with the crop.. |
