Thanks everyone who made suggestions for this image. My vision for this image was that the main subject of the image is winter in all its cold dreary isolation. The silos and barn buildings were intended to be background elements. I did darken the silos a small amount, but maybe I darkened it too much that they became mistaken for the main subject.

The image is surprisingly dynamic with the subject canon, heavily overcast sky, and apparent elevated position based on the drop off in the foreground. It exudes a "don't mess with me" message. Excellent texture and moodiness. |

This image was made for monochrome. The subjects would be lost against the full color background shown in the original. Your crop nicely includes the essential elements of the story and drops the rest. Well done.

Nice composition. The texture of the petals is well captured.
The cropping of the the petals around the frame preserves the sense of the whole flower.
Lowering the tones in the upper left potion of the image would allow more contrast between the pistol and stamen against the petals.

Very dynamic image enhanced by the diagonals. The usual near-far perspective in terms of tones and focus are turned around, which adds interest. In this case the far field is brighter and more in focus that the closer elements, and keeps me looking up. I would suggest cropping some from the bottom to balance the tonal weight from top to bottom.

I like the strong geometrical elements and the abstract nature of this image. I agree that more elements on the left side would balance and center horizontally the black circle at the top of the stairs. The wide tonal range and tonal gradient enhances the sense of depth through the tower and the focus from top to bottom makes the image very approachable and easy to explore. What were the exposure settings?

Excellent composition, especially the spacing and separation between the zebras. There is good contrast between the animals and their background. The dust enhances the sense of motion.
I think cropping the bottom to remove the track, which is the only distraction that I notice, and the top to a lesser extent would improve the image. |
