Very nice portrait of the reenactor with a relaxed friendly expression in his surroundings. The overall tone could be brightened, especially the subject's face. |

I really like the graphic forms including the vertical stripes on the stairway in the upper left. They compliment the linear shapes on the bench. Very well done. |

You've captured such a regal scene here. Your composition captures a sense of both vertical and horizontal depth. I would suggest dodging the dark shadow areas to bring out more detail. |

Nice tonal contrast, especially between the light walkway and the supporting walls. Limiting the framing to the walkway and placing the subject near the bottom tells a story of the subject's long walk ahead. |

I like the atmosphere provided by the smoke. It also provides a nice background to contrast with the trees. I would crop the right third of the photo and keep the interest on the left two thirds. |

I like the smooth milky appearance of the flower. In fact it looks like one of those high speed photos of milk drops.

Patrick, welcome to the group. I also feel that the color version has more impact. I included it to highlight not just the impact that the colors have on the subject, but to show what the colors are hiding; shapes, textures, patterns. The impact of these elements are also strong in my opinion but not immediately perceived. |
