John, Thank you for pointing out the tilted horizon. The only visible horizon in the photo is a bit of ocean in the upper right corner. Sure enough, the horizon was off by 4 degrees. My sense of level was thrown off by the sloping hillside in the background. |

The composition is excellent. You have the train entering the photo. The tracks point to where it is going, and the bridge provides an entry portal for the train. I can hear, smell, and feel the rumble of the rolling cars. Nicely done. |

This is a nicely composed image. At first it appears to be symmetrical, but closer inspection shows many difference between the left and right halves. The differences keep me coming back and looking for more details. Nicely done.

The tonal contrast is very well done. It focuses attention on the beautiful island and building and adds depth to the image. I like it very much. |

The contrast in tone, pattern, and texture are pleasing to me. My eye naturally tries to follow the rope through the knot but the knot is messy and with more rope than is needed for the know. The extra rope leads my eye off of the frame. I still find it a pleasing image. |

The image gives me a peaceful feeling of the two bridges connecting to the Gazebo. The conversion to monochrome removes the color contrast. This is apparent in the lack of reflections in the water in the mono version. This could be recovered somewhat by using a brush to burn the two darker reflected areas on the water and dodge the lighter areas. I would crop half the sky from the top since it does not have any contrast even in the color version, and is not needed for balance with the water in my opinion. |
