The narrow focus on the shielding screen adds depth to the image. The Topaz Denoise did a good job of removing the noise. For dark indoor spaces like this I have started using manual mode, setting shutter speed and aperture and letting auto ISO go as high as it needs to achieve a normal exposure. I find that more noise is created by underexposure than by high ISO. This formula seems to work with my astrophotography. |

The nearly symmetrical composition is off-perfection just enough to create visual tension. For example, the two escalators are not exactly centered between the hanging banners to add interest, in my opinion. The tension or contrast between the empty up escalator and the crowded down escalator add the the visual tension. |

The image draws me into the scene. The snow on the channel bank and the gondolier's clothing say, the weather is cold. On top of that the boat, which has the capacity of carrying many people, is empty save for the lone gondolier. That and the overcast light suggests that he is just starting his day. It's a detailed story in a nicely composed image.

A very nice assortment of graphical shapes in the structures contrasted nicely by the white clouds in the background. The clouds add a sinister fires of hell feeling to the background in my opinion. You could dodge the cages to lighten the overall mood. |

Peak action captured perfectly. The spray of water expanding behind the eagle points to the subject. The wing feathers are not as tidy as they could be but that is only noticed after taking in the action and does not reduce the impact in my opinion. |
