64 Feb 23 Comment The assortment of rectangles outlined by beads of snow maintains my interest in this image. I think the stored heat in the blocks has something to do with the more rapid melting in those areas compared to the seams between them. In any case it was the first thing I noticed, even before the patterns of rectangles. Nicely seen and captured. Feb 28th

64 Feb 23 Comment This is a very nice capture of the interaction between the chick and its parent. The focus on the chick, both in terms of the tonal contract between the house and the bird as well as the actual focus, is well done. The shadowed side of the chick could be dodged to bring out detail in the feathers. The wings of the parent bird in flight is nicely backlit. The motion blur adds movement. Feb 28th
