Very pleasing composition Jerry. The foreground and background establish the setting nicely. The range of tones and variety of textures add much interest also. Nicely done. |

I find it so interesting to learn how others viewed this image. By way of explanation, I did not notice the faces formed by the dark lines. I saw two vertical bands and one horizontal band that were darker (more dense) than the surrounding areas. The dark bands defined a gradient leading to an area of less density where lighter, thinner gray lines are added to the mix. Because there are no straight lines, I find the patterns soothing. If the wave patterns were set to sound however, the result would most likely not be soothing.

I very much like the details in the form of the bird in profile. The backlit feathers on the breast add contrast to the water and reeds behind the bird. There is a lot of environmental detail in the top and left that does not add significantly to the image and could be cropped, in my opinion. |

Nice capture of the graceful shadow on the tree. The shadow echos an ancient form that could come from a Greek urn. The scale of the tree and shadow work well together. Nicely done. |

You captured the textures on the massive rock formation nicely. The tones of the sunlit rocks are very similar to the tones in the shadowed rocks. I would like to have seen more distinction between the two areas. |

This scene was definitely made for black and white. Once I get past the shock of paint covering the models eyes, this scene is all about contrast. The reflection of the window on the painted face emphasizes the glassy texture of the black paint and the texture and color of the white hair provides contrast. You nicely exposed the image. |

The tree on the right nicely frames the town scene and echos the trees in among the houses and on the hillside on the left. The white buildings are overexposed and lose detail in my opinion. You mention the Mediterranean but I couldn't see it in the image. |
