I know that many of the comments on this image have been about the "lines" which are safety cables to prevent boaters and swimmers from going over the dam. On tonight's TV news there was a story about how the safety cables were torn down during Hurricane Ida. It will take heavy equipment to retrieve the cables from the bottom of the Schuylkill river and reconnect them. West River Drive, from where my photograph was taken, will be off limits to all traffic (car, bicycle, and foot) until the cable is restored. |

I like the composition. The level of detail, tonality, and texture make clear that this is a large strong structure. I would not know its function without your explanation. Would it be possible to have a boat in the image?

I think the composition is excellent. The contrast of the dark trees against the light background is very effective. Even the spacing between the tree branches on the right and the rock outcrop is well thought out. Nicely done.

You have included a lot of information in this image. The person give the stacks impressive scale. The sea appears to be ebbing or at low tide, and the person's shadow indicates morning light. I would have likes to see more of the large rock on the right hand side. |

The grainy weathered treatment is very effective. It gives a classic old west feel to the image, like a tintype. |

The window through the door provided the most interest to me. I also like the textures and patterns of the weatherning. Nicely done.

You have framed the church nicely with the foreground leaves. The bright framework on the steeple contrasts well against the grey/sepia sky. One leaf ends abruptly at the roof line which gave it a pasted-in appearance on first glance. I would have liked the silhouette of the leaf to end above or below the roof line. |
