64 Dec 19 Reply Stan: Here is a cropped version. The crop off the bottom made the image close to square so I made a square crop. I like the effect and agree that removing the bright reflection at the bottom improves the image. Thanks for your comments. Dec 28th
64 Dec 19 Reply Jerry, much better. Dec 12th
64 Dec 19 Reply Good observation about the shutter speed. The Sony has a Scene Mode called Anti-Motion Blur. It fires three or four shots and combines them in camera to create the sharpest possible image. That's the mode I used to take this photograph. Thank you for your comments. Dec 12th
64 Dec 19 Comment This image tells a story. To me it's a story of domestic stability and order. I like the bright clear patterns on the ironwork on the stove front. I didn't realize that there was a roaring fire in the stove until I saw the original. It looks like a bright area with some smoke moving toward the chimney. Is there something you could do to contrast the fire from its surroundings? Dec 10th
64 Dec 19 Comment This is a very impactful image. I like that the foreground is solid, even the waves are frozen, all in contrast to the extreme movement of the star trails. Very nicely done. Dec 10th
64 Dec 19 Comment This image is too harsh and crunchy for my taste. The Arcangel is lost is the distance. The arches come through as the main subject. I would try to isolate the arches and remove the umbrellas, table and chair, and person in the background. The Arcangel could make a good subject, but not in this photograph. Dec 10th
64 Dec 19 Comment The bare stems compete with the flower petals. I'm assuming that the petals were the main subject here. I would lighten the petals and darken the surrounding areas to emphasize the petals as the subject. You could try using the radial filter in Lightroom. Dec 10th
64 Dec 19 Comment Even though you described the subject, I find myself trying to visualize what the pre-camera movement looked like and what causes the dashes of light. It is very puzzling but interesting at the same time. Dec 10th
64 Dec 19 Comment This image has many elements that I enjoy: a mix of straight and curved lines, light and shadows, patterns, and shapes. It has strong presence in monochrome. Nicely done. Dec 10th
