Jerry, the brightening of the image improves it in my opinion, especially in the upper portion. It brings out the shapes in the glass. |

The shapes and patterns are very nicely composed to form a compelling image. I enjoy the contrast between the building brick and timber work and the patterns of the window panes. I like how the shapes of the painter, door, and ladder in the room are readily recognizable but the bright shape of the ceiling light in the upper portion of the window (dormer?) is truncated by the hexagonal shapes of the glass panes, yet still recognizable. Nicely seen and captured. |

You have brought together a nice combination of elements that complete the image. The mist on the water, ripples on the water, water drops falling off the oars, and even the dead tree trunk on on the opposite shore combine to make an evocative image in my opinion. Well done! |

I find this image to be very compelling. It's all about contract. The distinction between the glass and its projected shadow is the best part of the image in my opinion. The sharp difference in the textures of the two halves, and even the gradation of texture in the lower half of the image, adds much interest. The patterns in the upper half of the image have a three-dimensional appearance which is contrasted with the two-dimensional look of the shadows in the lower half. The image is low key. I wonder how it would look brightened up a bit. |

The detail in the subject bird and the wide value range make this an exquisite image. The dark background and foreground complete the isolation (in a good way) of the subject. Nicely done. |

The ship is a perfect subject for a monochrome image. The crisp white hull and masts really stand out nicely. Even the masts stand out against the grey sky. The building on the right peeking up from behind the trees doesn't add much in my opinion and could be cropped out. I think that some minor cropping on the left, leaving the two bright buildings and the ship would also help focus attention on the main subjects. |
