Hi Jerry, thanks for your comments and suggestion. My first thoughts on the cropping suggestion were 1.) I did crop the sky above the clouds, 2) I presented the scene the way I remember it and 3) The centered horizon comment seems like standard camera club rules of thumb. I have a hot button against rules.
HOWEVER, I tried cropping as you suggested (image attached) and find that I LIKE the way it emphasizes the foreground. Thank you for teaching me that listening has its rewards. |

I like the contrast between the mountains and the water. It is very dramatic. The clouds and mist hugging the mountains provide a nice contrast which emphasizes the shapes of the mountains and adds depth. Nicely done.

I can feel the nostalgia that you saw when you made this image. I keep wondering how someone climbed onto the branch to tie the rope. The framing of the swing under the curved branch is pleasing to me. I didn't notice the angle of the rope until it was mentioned. But now that I see it, I would try to straighten it. |

Kudos to your handholding skills. For me, the best qualities of this image are the tones, which I find pleasing. They add clarity and detail to the subject. |

This image nicely captures the graphical elements set up by the way the glass and basket were displayed and lit. At first the grainy appearance of the glass in particular was bothersome, but after seeing the original, it became less so. I would have liked to see more of the basket. A wider angle or longer subject distance would have allowed that. |

The tonal variations and delicate edges of the petals really make this image special. The depth of field nicely captures the edges of the petals. |
