I'm following the discussions of the blurred trees at the bottom and blurred branches in the background. My thinking about the trees at the bottom was that the gum balls filled in the white space created by the pine tree on the lower right and complimented its triangular shape. I can see now that the small tip of pine tree at the bottom left is a distraction. I was so focused on the gum ball silhouettes that I didn't see it. My thought about the blurred branches in the background was that they added a sense of depth which prompted me to use the wide open aperture. Next time I will play with different depth of field. I appreciate all the comments. |

I like that the tones of the models dress and skin provide significant separation from the background. The vegetation becomes lost in the rocks in the monochrome and would benefit from some separation, either by tone or texture. I would suggest moving to the left to create separation between the waterfall and the models knees. |

I find the scene and composition to be pleasing. The light bands across the water break up the tonal patterns over the water and I find this to be interesting. The halos detract from the image and give the appearance of being over processed. Perhaps increasing the exposure when the image was captures would have required less processing. |

I think that this may be an example of an image that works better in color that monochrome. The pink color on the bulb shape and the shadows on the white petal come across as scuffed up and dirty. Perhaps some soft even lighting would improve the appearance of the white petals. |

I am enjoying the many geometric shapes in this image. The shadows and how they intersect provide the greatest impact are the most interesting to me.The variety of straight and curved lines keeps my interest. In my opinion, the clouds add interest and variety to the light in the windows. The sculpture itself is less interesting that the shadows it creates. Nice work. |

My initial impression of the image before reading your description was that the juxtaposition of the two halves was jarring, that it must be made from two separate images. After reading your description that this was indeed one image, I'm now more perplexed trying to get my brain to reconcile the two halves. This image really gets my attention and keeps me looking. Very interesting! |

I like the sensation of depth that the low angle creates. I find the sensation of the water movement created by the long shutter speed to be silky smooth and very pleasing. To me it is one of the main impressions from this image. The other is the rocks in the fore- and middle ground. Nicely done.
