The texture of the pollen on the insect's back is the most interesting feature for me. The flash reduces the contrast between the insect and the flower and adds shadows from the legs onto the flower pedals. Diffused light would increase the separation between the insect and the flower. I think the texture in the flower pedals could be increased without distracting too much from the main subject. |

The careful composition really stands out. The almost symmetrical patterns of light and dark areas provides a structure that I find satisfying to look at. The raindrops grouping along the dividing line between dark and light is interesting also. Very nice. I wouldn't change a thing. |

The image speaks volumes about the character of the hard-working man. Looking at his bare feet, I could imagine the texture of the ground. The right half of the image does not add anything and I would crop it out. |

I an drawn to the purely graphical nature of this image. Its irregularity requires lots of time to study the elements, which I enjoy doing. Color would have been too distracting from the graphical elements. Nice choice of subject and point of view.

The eyes are wonderfully sharp. The white in the background nicely mirrors the white on the owl's breast. You have been able to capture some personality in the expression of the bird. The white on top of the ears is a bit blown out. Perhaps you could adjust the brightness down in those areas. |
