Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
64 Apr 17 Comment I appreciate the comments and supportive suggestions for improvement of this image. The image after increasing contrast and cropping is attached. Thank you Group 64. I love the group name. Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment This is a perfect subject for monochrome. The sheet music and the keys balance each other on the top and bottom rectangles. The Yamaha logo doesn't add much. The bright reflections in the chrome vie for importance with the music score and the keys. Increasing the contrast in the sheet music would add impact and mirror the contrast between the white and black keys. Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment The stormy atmosphere and the full range of tones from white to black are the first impressions from this low key image. The action and main subjects are clear. After a closer look, I realized that there are three boats in the image. You could consider cropping on the right side so there are only two boats in the image. Having only the front end of the trailing boat in the image makes it clear which boat is leading. Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment This image gives me a peaceful feeling. That feeling is supported by the soft waves and the lights from the ships offshore. Everything is nicely in focus. It looks like there was plenty of light from the lighthouse even with the covering of the lens. The reflection from the lighthouse light on the water provides a strong leading line toward the main subject. The reflected light from the underside of the clouds adds atmosphere. This is a new vision of an often photographed subject. I like it. Can I say that? Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment The graphical nature of the image stands out and is the main feature the I notice. The frame work before the back of the car provides a momentary visual puzzle and adds interest. The single point perspective is classic. I can easily visualize the vanishing point. This could be used in a text book on drawing. I find distressed subject interesting. Nice image. One suggestion would be to increase the contrast by darkening the blacks and darks to add gravitas. Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment The stark contrast between the black and white patterns in the wings provides the major impact for this image. I could go either way on the question of whether a lighter background, which would highlight the outline of the wings or a darker background, which would allow the white patterns in the wing to pop is preferable. The image is nicely focused throughout the wings and plant. Apr 14th
64 Apr 17 Comment Hello John. The subtle tonal variations and geometric patterns are striking. The exposure is excellent. The main subject is clearly identifiable. Very nice. Apr 14th
