19 Dec 24 Comment Thanks for ll the very kind & helpful comments. Happy New Year to everyone! Dec 29th
19 Dec 24 Comment Thanks Mel & John for the comments. It took me a while and lotsa experimentation to get the 'look' I wanted for the shoreline. I found that focusing on isolating what was most important to me in the scene was best rather than trying to capture the magnificence of all of the morning sunrise. I guess simplicity is best!
Happy Holidays!

19 Dec 24 Comment Hi Adi,
This to me is a very creative use of a black & white treatment in a landscape.
I like the way you captured the sun hitting the tree.
Some thoughts for your consideration for future similar images-consider shooting at an even wider angle @ F16 and trying for a sunburst. For this particular image it might be interesting to crop at the waterline and eliminate the reflection entirely & see how you feel about it. Also, for this image perhaps lighten what appears (?) to be an inverted `V' vignette in the upper half of the image...yes it does draw my eye to the sun but the vignette, at least to me, doesn't seem realistic .

19 Dec 24 Comment Hi Jay,
This to me is a great example of an ICM `graphic' image. The fire escapes tell an urban story with the blur provided by the ICM creating a bit of mystery..You also managed to get the windows and fire escapes all aligned...tough to do in an ICM! Did you also consider converting the image to a pure black & white shot?...It would be interesting to see what that would look like .

19 Dec 24 Comment Hi Mel,
This to me is a wonderful travel image. The image is sharp, with good color and makes me wonder, `what is behind that door? The contrast of the stone's texture with that of the wooden planter, window and door gives this image a very realistic `feel'. It is as if I were standing where you were when you made the image. Well done!

19 Dec 24 Comment Hi Harriet,
This I think is a wonderful seasonal image. You can almost feel the chill in the air and the softness of the snow on the foliage.Have you tried making the colors a bit more vibrant (easily done in any imaging program)?...This could make the foliage `pop' even more against the snow.

19 Dec 24 Comment Hi John,
I think that this is a well crafted monochrome image. The sky is in great contrast to the clouds and the grasslands and stone structure lead you through the image. My only suggestion is to consider darkening the grasslands just a bit to provide more contrast with the sky.
