Thanks Stan. I appreciate your comments...Having only been to this spot in winter I too wondered how that tree survives...guess I'll just have to go back when the snow melts!

Thanks John. Sorry I `chilled you' <g> but if its any consolation my shutter finger began to take on the consistency of the ice as I was shooting.<g> norm |

Hi Adi,
WoW! This is truly a wonderful `street image'. It shows lots of creativity as well as careful planning. For me at least, reflection images with a single point of focus can be tough to do well...you have succeeded here! Also, the color of the clock tower is vibrant and the focus is sharp. Well done!

Hi Jay,
The composition here really holds my interest...The utilization of monochrome to lead the viewer's eye to/from the skylight is to me very well conceived. The fact that you have shades of grey, blacks and pure whites hark back to the `zone system' for monochrome images. Well done!

Hi Mel,
Congratulations on a lovely environmental rooster portrait . The focus is sharp & the colors are vibrant. Two minor suggestions: had you considered lightening the shadows in the tail feathers?; and would there have been a way to get the entirety of the rooster's claws in the bottom part of the image?

Hi Stan,
I think that this is a wonderful travel photo. To me there is a dynamic tension between the beach stone, its shadow & the beach goer...this adds a lot of interest to the image. The gently rolling waves and surrounding beach `cliffs' make this an image that I think keeps the viewer discovering new & interesting things!

Hi Harriet ,
The sharpness of the beak is impressive as is the blurred out snowy background. I understand what you were trying to do in emphasizing the beak but the eyes are such an important part of the bird that, at least for me it is where I look first. The lack of detail in the eyes to me detracts from what you are attempting. This is somewhat easily remedied by shooting at a higher F stop so you can get the eyes in focus as well as the beak.

Hi John,
A good image of the Avocet seemingly contemplating its next meal! The eye is sharp and the feathers are well delineated. Good color & exposure as well. One suggestion is to consider cropping out/deleting part of the mudbank in the foreground or perhaps darkening it...I find that it detracts from the image of the Avocet.
