19 Dec 23 Reply Hi John, Thanks-much appreciated. I felt much the same as you during my visit to Nova Scotia ...the colors were amazing ...but often difficult to translate that to a 2 dimensional image!
Happy Holidays,

19 Dec 23 Comment Hi Adi,
This, I think is a very creative and well executed image. The reflections create a sense of three dimensionality that add so much to the photo. The exposure and monochrome treatment are right on. The image is clear, crisp & evocative of the very best in `street photography'
My only questions is: had you considered cropping those 4 lamps (?) in the upper left corner--because they are bright ,my eyes are drawn to them first --perhaps that is what you intended & perhaps that's just my bias in the way I view the photo (left to right versus right to left).
I enjoyed viewing this image.

19 Dec 23 Comment Hi Mel,
This is I think a wonderfully creative and well executed image. The interplay of the light and shadow is terrific. The grain of the carpet really makes the mechanical mouse `pop' despite the respective colors being so close in shade. And the capture of the shadows of the cats' heads looking down really drew me in to the photo.
I enjoyed viewing this shot!

19 Dec 23 Comment Hi Stan,
This I think is a wonderful travel image.
The exposure and colors are right on. The composition is impressive. I really like the way you were able to capture the entire band mid-stride with the colonial houses as a backdrop AND have everything sharp. That there are tourists way in the background just adds to the realism of the scene.
I enjoyed viewing this image and it made feel as if I were there!

19 Dec 23 Comment Hi Harriet,
The black & white treatment I think really suits the image well. The composition is good although I might have cropped it a bit more at the top. Why? I don't think the more open space adds much-- but that's just a matter of taste. A couple of more thoughts: had you considered using less structure to see what a more `feathery tree' would look like? And since this is already a high key kind of photo had you considered using a black border to draw the eye in further?
Overall a wonderful image to view!

19 Dec 23 Comment Hi John,
This is I think a very thought provoking photo. The almost monochromatic image of the dogs & the owner looking out at a rain soaked play area really puts you in the mood of what the owner (& the dogs!) were thinking...Oh no, not rain!
The color, composition and exposure I think are spot on.

19 Dec 23 Comment Thanks Ali. Yes, there were 8 images taken in rapid succession with a very slight intentional camera movement. The images were merged in the Nikon z8 using the Z8's multiple exposure mode with averaging the images the chosen way to put the images together. 1/8 sec, 200mm, F16, ISO 64 Dec 8th
