Hi Barbara,
The color and detail in the Robin is outstanding! Concerning your settings ...you might want to try F8 & 1/40 sec (since the bird was still)...this would enable you to reduce your iso to perhaps 125(?) and help deal with the noise that may come from a full screen image of something that has been cropped (I also sometimes use either Nik Define or Topaz DeNoise for noise as well).
...Also, compositionally I think cropping out the right half of the image so the bird is not staring into space would help as well. I also wonder if doing this image in HDR would help-that is, 1 stop under & 1 stop over to get the shadows & highlights.
Good job!

Hi Marcela,
Don't you just love it when a wrong turn becomes a great photo-op! The colors in this image are terrific and you did really well considering that it was a fenced area and you could not get closer.. I think you are correct in wanting to crop...How you crop is really a matter of personal preference. For me the key elements of the image are the car, the sky & the field/trees. I would crop out the rock and try to intensify the color of the car so that it stands out a bit more.
Hope this helps.

Hi Stan, This is a wonderful combination of a landscape image and an architectural study! The image really shouts `three dimensional' with the flower foreground, the bridge mid-image and the marina in the background. The colors and exposure are `right on'. The only minor distraction I find is the `white'<?>
part of the bridge in the upper right quadrant...but I assume that's just part of the structure <?> & probably nothing to be done other than perhaps reducing the highlights there a bit. Great image! |

Hi Harriet,
This is I think a good environmental `portrait'. Because the hen feathers are so dark you may however want to use Photoshop (or a similar program) to reduce the shadows and the blacks and also try to enhance the red in the image. Also, you may want to try sharpening just the eyes of the hens. These adjustments may help the image really `pop'. |

Hi John,
This is I think a well conceived & executed image! The exposure is excellent & the reflection of the buoys and the pier supports add interest to the image. One suggestion, had you considered cropping up on the bottom of the image a bit to where the first buoy is reflected?... The lower part of the image seems to draw interest from the small boat.
