Thanks all for your very helpful comments! Photographing wildlife is a challenge for me & I don't do it often. I was just lucky to get the shot. I'm fortunate that the Nikon D850 in combination with Topaz NR reduction can produce good images. |

Ann,
Wow! A great image! The bird is perfectly positioned in the frame & the splashing water really gives a sense of movement. The improvements made to the original image in post processing are terrific enhancements.

Hi Marcela,
The image really does live up to its name...it speaks serenity. I also like the otherworldliness colors of the sky. Well done!
In terms of improvements I agree with John's suggestion for cropping.
Also, the `halo' on along the backs of the cattle may (?) mean the image was a bit oversharpened (?) either in the camera or in post processing...You may want to play with the sharpening sliders to see what happens.

Hi Stan,
Great street shot!...Its always a challenge to capture the right moment & I think this image does it well.
My only question is whether you think it would be an enhancement to crop up from the bottom--to eliminate a small bit of the street and in from the left?

Harriet,
Compared to the original I too like the use of texture in this image and the almost pastel like colors. I also like the leading line of the fence on the right.
Nice job!
Some thoughts: would using a smaller aperture--say f 5.6 or f8 help with more depth of field (since your ISO is 80 there is certainly iso `room' to do this if shooting auto iso.
Also ,would making the image `tighter' by cropping out the tree on the left be an enhancement?

Hi John,
A wonderful image...the black & white treatment works well!
...Some thoughts...Do you think cropping up on the boat holder and leaving a bit more room to the right of the bow would be an enhancement?
