19 Apr 18 Reply Thanks Bob! ...You must be psychic! We just had the picture printed & framed by Whitewall & it is hanging on our dining room wall! Apr 14th
19 Apr 18 Comment Thanks Stan. You have a great point about the monochrome character of the image...I hadn't planned on that & it happened serendipitously...I was just trying to get as many different images & perspectives as I could with a setting sun...As an FYI,
For those of you visiting Paris- to me 2 of the best image venues are the top of the Arc de Triomphe <12Euros + a hike to the top-but well worth it-especially if done near dusk on a weekday night when it is not crowded>...And the outdoor vista at the Cafe at the top of the main Galerie Lafayette department store <and its free!+the cafe has very reasonably priced meals-but you don't have to buy anything if you choose)...A la prochaine!

19 Apr 18 Comment Thanks Tracy for the suggestions.
...Although there is no rain-simply clouds (it may have rained after I left)

19 Apr 18 Comment Tracy, A great night shot! Several comments about composition...
1. Did you consider cropping the foliage out -- does it really add anything?
2. There may be 2 additional images here in addition to the one shown: 1. the left wheel & wheel well resting on the wooden slabs and 2. the car grill & possibly part of the hood.
3. It might be fun to try a B&W conversion here & see how it looks.

19 Apr 18 Comment Great Travel Image Carroll! You did a wonderful job with the b&w conversion. I really get a sense of place looking at this image.
That being said do you think cropping tighter around the torso/head of the man, the smoke and the stage would create additional impact? Its not clear how seeing half lit images of the audience helps here.

19 Apr 18 Comment Bob, A lovely photo! What terrific color!
Did you consider focusing in more on the center of the orchid or cropping to get that effect? The colors themselves make the picture, at least in my view. It's not clear to me that the green stem on the right or the right hand orchid help the composition.

19 Apr 18 Comment Stan, Great travel photo! Did you consider seeing what it looks like if you cropped the left hand side & the bottom (to eliminate that brown structure) & also cropped above the billboard. Too bad the sky didn't cooperate and be true blue! Apr 8th
19 Apr 18 Comment John, You captured a great image! It has impact capturing interest immediately! My only thought was seeing what happens if you tone down the highlights a bit-it may enhance the picture & it may not. Apr 8th
