Hi Tracy,
I think that this is a wonderfully exposed night image- tough to do!
I especially like the mountains in the background.
A question...had you considered making this 2 separate images? That is , from left to right image 1 would end before the statehouse with some upward cropping to eliminate the dark areas, white lights & perhaps further accentuate the mountains? & Image 2 would be the statehouse with the road & vehicle lights cropping out the 500(?) sign to the right? |

Hi Carroll,
I think that this is a terrific travel environmental portrait...it really captures the mood of the place...but wow, cold enough to freeze your tripod!...That is really frigid!
A few questions: would you consider cropping the image so the top of the bucket is showing & thus eliminating the dirt floor? Also, would opening up the shadows a bit help on the outfit the woman is wearing? Finally, & I'm not sure how this would be done easily - perhaps another reviewer does-but would making the snow be further whitened help the image?

Hi Bob,
I think this is a beautiful image & a testament to your patience as a photographer!...To me the image has instant impact & is 3 dimensional & really draws me into the scene.
A few questions: had you considered opening up the shadows in the foreground a bit more? Also, had you considered 'playing around' with a darker sky (nothing wrong with your sky but thought it might be fun)? Finally-& I know that given time constraints this wouldn't have been possible- might Scenes like this be perfect for focus stacking?...I saw an ad for a Kickstarter gadget called Arsenal that works through a cell phone & automatically does focus stacking...not available until April...but it may make a big difference for travel landscape photography (?) |

Hi Stan,
I think this is a great travel image. I really like the way the photo draws the viewer in...instant impact!
...A question...would it have been possible to ratchet up the ISO beyond 1600 so that the shutter speed could be faster?...I say that because the back wall is a bit blurry- given that you were @ F16 Would this because of camera shake?

Hi Ginger,
Wow! 16000 ISO - this is amazing quality! The colors & clarity are great.
Just a couple of questions...would you consider cropping out a bit more of the water so as to emphasize the skyline & sky a bit more?

Hi John,
I think this is a wonderful image. The lighting is right on & the colors of the hot rod really pop.
Had you considered shooting from an angle that could isolate the hot rod even more & eliminate the mirrored image on the right (I find it interesting but a bit distracting).
Also, the hot rod has so many interesting details that I envy your opportunity to do some close up work there!
