Thanks Ginger. I appreciate the comments. The
Blue hills are interesting but perhaps detract a bit from the bell tower (?). I did think about correcting the 'flaw' in the tower masonry-see the grey rectangle in front but I decided better to leave it as is. |

Carroll, I think this is an interesting composition per Bob's remarks.
A few thoughts: what about cropping the foreground a bit and emphasizing the person a bit more? I say this because without your explanation I found myself wondering what I was looking at (well, I've never been to China so that would be an explanation too). Also, did you consider experimenting with putting a bit of color in the sky?

Hi Stan, nice image...I especially like the details in the shadows & the detail in the sky.I wonder if cropping just below the green bush in the foreground would help to accentuate the S curve of the river? |

Whoa! This really woke me up when I saw it...It certainly has impact Bob. `Just wondering if you might want to play with darkening the skulls just a bit. |

Cute Image John. I agree with Bob's comments--especially a bit more cropping in on the mouse |

Thanks Bob. Yes, I think the PL filter could have worked here. But I was shooting with a Panasonic zs-100 (great camera) & didn't think to take it with me to put in front of the lens & rotate...As for the light inside the bell tower I think somehow (?) the flood lights inside the tower (barely visible) helped to create the effect. In any event it was one of those fortunate travel occasions where I happened to be at ththe righ place at the right time! |
