72 Sep 23 Reply Mary, if you don't have the directions for making Kaleidoscopes, get back to me (mlfrost@verizon.net) and I'll send it to you. Sep 16th
72 Sep 23 Reply I often teach these techniques to students beginning to get serious on image development because it clearly shows the value of working in layers. I, too, especially like this creation. Sep 11th
72 Sep 23 Reply The process of creating Kaleidoscopes isn't difficult. It requires one to repeat a series of movements, once for each multiple. In this photo, the rotation is 22.5 degrees, leaving me with an 8-sided object. Sep 11th
72 Sep 23 Reply Thanks, Isaac. I find that photographers see the benefits of working in Layers when they play around with these creative techniques. Sep 9th
72 Sep 23 Comment I agree with Bruce that the addition of the crocodiles adds punch to this image. The pano stitched together very well. Would a bit more contrast be helpful or would it destroy the natural setting and lighting you had that day? Sep 8th
72 Sep 23 Comment Adrian, by including quite a bit of water, it helps the bird and his dinner stand out. I, too, especially value images that I had to work to capture! This is a very nice bit of bird life. Sep 8th
72 Sep 23 Comment Marie, I always enjoy the "personality" that we see when one zooms in on an image. Your camera did an amazing job at eliminating noise when the ISO is so high. This is one of the benefits of purchasing a new camera. Technology has greatly improved the high ISO settings. Thanks for this view of the life of a blue jay! Sep 8th
72 Sep 23 Comment Barbara, by showing us the original capture we can appreciate the crop you chose. I love this closeup view. You were wise to crop in enough to justify the loss of creature details. This image has great personality. Sep 8th
72 Sep 23 Comment Maria, your capture allows the frog to show off its diminutive size. I think part of the power of this capture is your zoomed out view. Many times we zoom in but that can destroy the realistic view that you captured. Lovely image. Sep 8th
72 Sep 23 Comment Bruce, you are fortunate to see eagles. I realize that you have to take the time to get to the right place. This is an especially interesting image because it doesn't convey the powerful and sometimes threatening view we see. I didn't realize that they have such a wingspan! Great image. Sep 8th
