Ah Ha! That shows you how lacking my knowledge of birds is!
It is obvious that I haven't seen a spoonbill. Thanks for the information.

Isaac, I appreciate the group of 3 bears. The 2 smaller ones are a great complement to the large one. I guess the recommendation for groups of 3 parts to a subject really works in this image. I, too, have Churchill on a wish list. |

Adrian, this is a spectacular landscape. How you maintained the depth of field makes this image. I might have tried removing a bit of the foreground to allow my eye to rest on the mountains. |

Marie, I am sorry that I have been involved in non-photographic activity this month. I love your bird. You have achieved a very natural sharpness which I appreciate. |

Barbara, I downloaded Isaac's version and used a favorite background trick. I used select/subject and inverted the selection so I had the background selected. I then put that selection on a new layer and opened a "hue and saturation" adjustment layer where I simply moved the "lighten" slider a bit to the left which darkened the background. I'll attach the result here. |

I agree with all the above comments. It is a beautiful image. One suggestion of mine might be to see if the reflected light in the eye could be reduced in post processing. |

I love the effect of the depth of field. If there had been more depth of field, it wouldn't have been as effective. You achieved great realism in post processing. |
