Telling me of the poisonous nature of this critter makes me glad that I kept some distance. It reminds me of an experience years ago when I photographed a tarantula with a closeup lens and later learned that it could jump many inches in any direction. We had also been sleeping directly on the ground in the same location! |

Isaac, when I first glanced at this image I imagined that I was viewing an unusual fish! Your story is great! I wonder what children would say, without any background information?
Such captures are few and great to share and enjoy! |

Adrian, this month has been a treat for me with so many lovely birds. It is interesting to wonder how nature selected this bird to have so much green! Maybe at one time he lived in a very green environment. We humans don't seem to have nearly as much originality in our appearances! Thanks for sharing. |

Marie, I love seeing these closeups of birds I seldom encounter. I wondered if darkening the green leaves a bit might direct the attention more toward the bird. I used the Hue and Saturation adjustment layer to slightly darken the greens. I also lifted the shadows a bit. I really like this image. |

Barbara, I've never had such a close look at the detail in a bird's feet! It makes me realize that many of the animals that we capture have interesting detail we never notice. This is a lovely shot. |

Randy, you live with very colorful birds. I don't usually see such fine specimens in my back yard. I am guessing that it took a lot of patience to wait for this shot. This bird is a show-off! |

Bruce you showed much patience to wait for the right shot! It is nice to see how effective the blurred background is. You have a very still pair of hands to keep such fine focus. |
