I was impressed with the light provided. It was directional and gave excellent illumination to the creatures. |

Isaac, I had a wonderful visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium many years ago. It resulted in the only picture in my Coral Reef Show which was taken in an Aquarium! That aquarium does a great job of keeping all surfaces black so it is possible to isolate a creature. This is a beautiful image.
For fun, I will add my jellyfish image created at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. |

Once again, I enjoy the "story" in this image. The peacefulness has the undercurrent of stealth! I might have cropped off the right side but I like the space you created on the left side.
I, too, cling to pure nature when I can. It is especially beautiful when an image captures a story as well as this one does.
Great image. |

Marie, your image development shows what magic we can create when learning how to use the tools available. I'm curious to think that some very dim and out-of-focus background might have enhanced this image? Just a thought. I, too, appreciate the select subject tool. Even when it isn't perfect, it certainly makes the selection easier. A nice touch of spring! |

Barbara, welcome to the group. This image gives me a chance to speak to "luminosity selections." When it is challenging to increase the exposure on the subject while protecting the background (sky in this case), I use luminosity selections to create a mask. I can them limit the brightening or contrast to just the birds. I'll put a link to a spot to a free download of Tony Kuyper's luminosity actions. I find them to be an exciting addition to image development. If you are new to these tools, I recommend starting with the action set designed for Photoshop Elements which will also install in Photoshop. It is an easier way to begin.

I only rarely do bird photography but I am impressed by the story in this image. For that reason, I would go with a tighter crop. It must be satisfying to have such an excellent lens! Great image.

Bruce, everyone has pointed out the strong points of this image. I am most struck by the tiny curved perch which adds an artistic touch to your wonderful image. |

I like your suggestion for centering the motorcycle. I did it and will attach the result.
