I went back and tried to selectively lighten the bottom right corner. I removed the blue cast that bothered that space and removed the yellow cast from the water there. I then used Tony Kuyper's luminosity masks to selectively lighten the shadows in the greens. I preferred less brightness than Isaac added. I also brought down the bright spot on the waterfall using another luminosity selection. See what you think. |

Thanks, Walt. I had tried to lighten the foreground and it seemed to just lose saturation and looked weird to me. Maybe I could try the dodge and sponge tools. I'll give that a try. |

One of the problems we all face is having all of the needed equipment when we are hiking. I will try to place a polarizer in the foreground of my photographic mind! |

The top histogram represents the Raw file as captured and the one below is the histogram after Raw adjustments. I don't see overexposure. |
