I have actually seen the Migration but my memory is of the entire animal. It's impressive that a crocodile can bring one down!

Isaac, can alligators close their eyes? It might add to the story if the female had closed her eyes! :<)
The details in the "faces" of the gators really make this photo for me.
Nice shot

I'm not sure I know what the prey is? Can someone explain the "2 heads" which appear to be on either side of the croc's head?
The colors on the crocodile's body are elegant.

I seem to be in a "chuckly" mood. I am enjoying this moment which is not often seen...2 of hundreds perched together.

Walt, this image catches a mood which holds my attention. I, too, tried lifting the darkest shadows. To do this a created a luminosity mask focused on the darkest shadows.I used that mask with a levels adjustment layer This permit one to leave the lighter portions less effected.

I am enjoying the motion in the clouds. It was a good choice when the stars disappeared. It would be interesting to see this scene in daylight!
PS: The original image is missing. |

Bruce, your pelican has a lot of impact. It made me chuckle.
It would be a neat image to ask people to provide the thoughts of the bird. It is bursting with communication!
Great Shot!

The question of "subject" is an interesting one. In this image I felt the impact of the entire scene as my subject. In many images there is a specific "subject" where your eyes plant themselves. This landscape feels different to me.
Thanks for all our comments.
