Helen, you have achieved an amazingly creative image of something that would rarely be given a second thought. Congratulations on a wonderful abstract that has a dynamic appearance, totally sharp with full tonal colours and blends seamlessly. If you like it that's all that matters, judging is so subjective. |

I feel that the sepia look of this image bring out many scuttle tones. The sweeping curves maintain the interest within this image. Well seen and well photographed. |

Birds in flight is an instance where one rarely gets to choose the background and in a split second you would have lost the inflight scene. An excellent capture in this instance, the speed and aperture have stopped the action and given sharpness and detail in the bird. The whites are fine and the blue of the frozen lake had it been the complete background would have been stunning. Like Peter you also needed a step ladder as 2' higher and the background would have been gone. From my experience the birds will usually fly into the wind to pick off their prey. Keep trying, would like to see more. |

An excellent capture of the mountain goat, the use of black and white brings out the sharpness and detail. I like that the exposure shows the full spectrum of blacks and whites. I feel that there could be some additional space in front to show a little more of the animals habitat. |

The reflected colours in the image are interesting, but I feel that it is missing a focal point. More of the beautiful colours in the mountains would only have enhanced this image.

An image with a real story, told exceptionally well in black and white. I feel there is more than enough interest to compensate for the horizon line and I guess you didn't have a step ladder in the middle of the desert to gain that little bit of height to eliminate it. Lots of action with the waving ears and the sand and all very sharp. Great image. |
