Oh dear, not my favourite program at the moment. I abandoned Adobe products a while ago due to problems I'd had with Acrobat, PSE11 and LR6, and I don't like cloud products. A fellow club member asked me to help her last week as Lightroom 6 had stopped working on her computer, and it has evaded my weekend efforts. I can't find any useful help on their site or Forums either. So a further Affinity convert might be pending! But you did a fine job with it. |

PS no-one criticised the scaffolding and the man. I had been tempted to remove them, do you think they are OK? |

As square as a triangle! It's wonky everywhere, but that's part of its charm. I could do a converging verticals correction of course, but I don't do that slavishly, I'm happy to present it as seen by mk1 eyeball. |

Thanks, John, I really like your improvement. You've improved the sky as Don suggested too, but not too much to dominate the picture, so I hope Stan approves.
I submitted this one more or less "straight from the camera" to see what you guys would suggest, and if you don't mind I'll do this with the original myself.
What software did you use? |

A great spot, and if seen as street photography of course pictorial aspects don't matter so much. However I don't think it's really street, there's no interaction between the people for example, and so I agree cropping out the distractions is essential. If possible I'd have found a slightly higher viewpoint if it were available, and waited for the close background figures to go. It can take a long wait to get an idea like this to work best. |

Well, winter is definitely here, Abhijeet, we have had about 5 inches of snow in the past few days, more than I have seen in the last 40 years in Cheshire, and the temperature is predicted to reach -12°C tonight in places, also unusual in recent decades here. Birds here seem to be staying indoors and I don't blame them!
I like this scene, and like the grainy effect. I would prefer to crop some off the bottom to "rectify" the central horizon as there's not much of interest there, and we are left with a sort of vignette caused by the clouds, their reflection and the shore. I don't understand the darkening to the top right, but it does balance the picture for me, so I'm not complaining. At first I thought it was a pity the boats aren't "pointing" to the island, but then I thought no, real life isn't always leading lines, and the present composition is a nice interpretation os a real scene. |

I think there's bags of impact in this image. However having looked at it for some time, I think that the overall contrast is a bit too high for my liking. Maybe you tried varying it and preferred this. Otherwise I think it's great. |

Sorry for my ignorance, Jerry, but what is BXW?
Whatever it is, there's no doubt in my mind that your final image is a vast improvement on the initial one. I think all the previous comments are true. Well done! |

I think it's an attractive image, but hands in a portrait can always spoil things, and here you couldn't direct the model to move it! I agree with Jerry, it is too distracting here for my liking, and indeed I would crop the left as well as the right to give a portrait orientation image which I think is a bit better balanced than just cropping the right up to and perhaps slightly beyond the head. I also agree with Stan and I'd put a small catch light in. |

Super image, John, I think there are so many interesting things to look at. The centre of attention for me is the Conservatory, so clear against the black sky. All of the picture is attractive but my attention is continually referred back to the Conservatory. Personally therefore I'd have preferred a slightly longer focal length and a viewpoint a bit further backwards to enlarge the Conservatory relative to the pond, but maybe that wasn't possible. Regardless, I love it. |
