Regarding cloning haloes, I have used different methods. The latest one I learned was to make a new empty layer, select Darken mode and use the Clone tool. Only the areas that are lighter than the source area will be affected by the cloning. On the other hand, Lighten mode can be used to clone darker than the source area. |

Thank you, Barbara. You are right about the halo. It always appears when processing pictures this way. I have just learned how to remove it, but that was after I submitted this one. |

Thank you, Larry. I am very glad to hear that I have influenced you in a positive way. I have worked hard over a long period of time to reach the level I am at now. When I can, everybody else can if they are willing to put enough effort into it. Comments like yours give me encouragement to strive to the next level. |

First, I admire your attitude to photography. Seeing a motive when getting ready for work is one thing, but taking the time to set up the tripod and start photographing is something else. Your post-processing is everything in this image and thank you for submitting the originals. You have created wonderful depth. The trees in the foreground make a natural frame. Lightning the buildings and the field is also nicely done. You could consider cropping the sky down to just above the lower branch on the left side, as the sky takes attention from the main subject. |

A well done winther seascape picture. Snow is not easy to capture as it easily becomes a dull area, either too bright or too dark. You have managed to create depth and life in the snow. I like the amount of contrast between the sky and the sea. My only suggestion for improvement is to bring out some details in the lower part of the sky. |

My first impression is that this is cold. The post-processing is done with a gentle hand. Nothing is overdone, just enough to express the feeling. I like the colour contrast between the warm colours of the lighthouse and the building beside it and the cold colours of the sea and the snow. Finally, I noticed the gradient in the sky moving from warm to cold from left to right. |

To me, you have succeeded very well in what you wanted. The poles make a leading line to the rocks behind and further towards the bright part of the sky. The line in the waves and reflections brings us back to the starting point. I also like that you have enhanced the white in the waves which gives contrast and life to the picture. Well done! |

Thank you for your comment. The picture is taken from a boat that was on the move and one of the challenges was to make a composition with separation between the two stacks and at the same time see through the hole. I take your point of taking out more texture in the rock, but at the same time,
I wanted a painterly look without too much texture to compete with the green grass. I will try it out. |
