I must admit that I envy your capability to describe an image. I am working on it though. About your comment about cropping the right side: I made a print of 30x53 cm and put it on the wall. Then I saw the same thing and I made a new version where the two mountain peaks had about the same distance to the sides. This gave a much better balance. I also would like to tell you that the peak to the left is 1827 m high and I have been there on skies in my younger days. |

Long exposures give a lot of effects that cannot be fully calculated. In this case, it creates an atmosphere of a warm evening with people watching the monument in the background. The leading lines up to the monument create a good composition. |

Using a long exposure makes the picture more interesting. It is not easy to find the right shutter speed since some cars are moving faster than others, but here you have succeeded well. To me, the white balance could be adjusted to a colder tone as it has a yellow cast. I would also crop out the person to the left. |

This scene is good for black and white as it has a lot of contrasts. Since you asked for feedback, I will try to give you some suggestions. Since you don't have colour contrast, you have to play with light and dark. The mountain is clearly the main hero and needs the most attention, which means the most contrast. My suggestion is to darken the sky and the foreground in order to reduce attention. Then use dodge and burn on the white and dark areas of the mountain to make it pop, with the most intensity at the top. Last, clone out the cloud around the top of the mountain to make a clear contour to the sky. This is not possible do in Lightroom, so you have to use Photoshop. |

My first thought was that Palouse is in Toscana, Italy. I like the variations of shadows and light in all shades. The creek makes a leading line into the image and the opposing hills in the foreground enhance the composition. |

A very moody and well-done picture. A firm intention of what to shoot makes the capturing easier and the result better. I admire your planning, I think most of us have something to learn here. I love the calmness, subtle colours, and haze in the scene. If I should give any suggestions, it would be to darken the yellow straws in the middle left with a gradient, as they take attention from the main subject. |

The minimalistic style together with the spooky feeling of the fog makes the emotions in the image. You may try to make one version without the nearest lamp and crop down to a landscape format as that gives quite another impression. |
