A dramatic scene, captured at the right moment. I like the lighter sea against the darker sky. My comment is to crop from the bottom as the sand takes attention from the main object, may be not quite as much as Larry suggests. Also lighten up the lighthouse to make it more visible. If shall be very picky, there are some sensor dust on the sky and halos around the edges. |

I did also visit this place in 2019. Iceland is a place I would like to return to. A problem at Gullfoss and other popular places is there are alway a lot of people around and you have limited time to be there. I like the triangle shapes that repeat several times in the image. A vignette might give more focus on the waterfall and partly hide the row of people on the left side. |

I like the symmetry in the picture. It is all right to place the horizon line in the middle if it serves a purpose, but in this case I have to agree with Larry that cropping the sea is better. I also think that lighting up the lower building would make the image more interesting. |

It is an interesting landscape, but I have to agree with Larry that my eyes go to the mountains in the background. By darkening the background mountains and lighting the boulders, the goal would be achieved, I think. |

The low camera position makes this shot. The polarizer makes it possible to see the bottom rocks which make the image more interesting. May be a vignette would give more emphasis on the waterfall and the reflection. |

A lovely tree capture. The fog separate the tree from the surroundings and makes it more prominent. My suggestion for improvement is to enhance the colours on the tree and darken the foreground slightly. May be also slightly darken from the top dow to the tree. This might make the tree pop more. |

Thank you for your comment, Dick. I am working on a photo book about architecture in Bergen, so the pictures will be unfolded one day. Your suggestion is very interesting as I got the same comment from my mentor. I will definitely go out and reshoot. |

It pays off to wait for the right moment. The B&W version displays a drama that the colour version is not even close to. The scene is very well captured and the eyes are drawn into the point of interest, the trees in the middle of the image. If I shall give an advice for improvement, it would be to crop a bit from the right side and darken the area above the the middle trees and the upper left corner which would add attention to the main object. |

Welcome to our group, Jeff! You have done a good job with the merging of pictures. The birds give life to the image and the clouds add drama. My suggestions for improvement is to crop the foreground so the horizon line become down to about 1/3 and darken the blue sky slightly to increase the tonal range. |

A lovely animal portrait. I like the diagonal/triangle composition and the camera angle that makes the image interesting. The angle of light makes the texture pop. Well done, Tracy! |

An image can be interpreted in may ways. For me, the three trees at the top are the main subject and point of interest. I like the sun beams that kind of frame in the trees. If you go there again, I would suggest that you bring a tele lens with you and focus on the trees, the group of three and the one to the right that looks very interesting. Just make sure that the branches don't hit the ground. |

A very well captured photo, with a good composition and good expressions of the players. The cloning is also well done and enhance the focus on the players. Using Topaz DeNoise is a very good choice. I use it myself on most of my pictures and think it is one of the best of its kind on the market. |

The only way to improve ourselves, is to try out new ideas and techniques like you have done here. Your question if it have sufficient compositional strength to ignite the curiosity of a casual observer is very valid and a good way of thinking. In my opinion, it does not have that strength. The main reason is that it lacks a distinct point of interest where the eyes can rest on. But, you are into something, so keep on improving! |
